500 runs by both sides in the first innings

In the ongoing third Test match between Pakistan and England at Headingley Leeds, both sides made 500 plus runs in their first innings. It thus provided only the 21st instance in Test cricket’s history when both sides scored 500 or more runs in their first innings of the match. Curiously enough, only the Adelaide Test between Australia and India in 2004 produced a result. For reader’s interest, the accompanying table has the complete details.
