A Good News ; Kamran Akmal is at last Injured
Ok, things are not that rosy. With the good news, there is also a bad news as usual. Let’s carry on with the good news first. Let me repeat (and how good it feels), that Pakistani wicket keeper Kamran Akmal is injured, and more than likely (if the luck lasts with the Pakistan), he wont be able to play in the coming One Day Internationals against India. His finger is fractured, and he cannot hold the ball or bat anymore. Though it’s really doesn’t make much of a difference that whether he is able to hold the ball or not, because we all know about his abilities.
The bad news is that his injury is very minor, and he would be available for the team in the test matches for sure. That’s the real sad news. After all these years, he has been screwing Pakistan behind the stumps, and now with sheer luck, we got the news of his injury, but its very short-lived. But there is a silver lining.
It might be a chance for some other guy, who will join the team as Kamran Akmal’s replacement. He could do some sort of keeping behind the wickets, and smash some boundaries, and Kamran Akmal would have to run for his life then. Though its very highly unlikely that we would get anybody like Salim Yousuf, or Moin Khan or Rashid Latif, but whoever would take Kamran’s place couldn’t be bad than him. It’s naturally impossible.
Moin Khan must be getting exciting over this news like me. As he put forth his services just before the notorious world cup in Caribbean earlier this year, he could once more embarrass himself. But as the things are with him, its sure that he would be canvassing like hell in the PCB circles for his inclusion. On second thoughts, in this drought of wicket keeping, when we have to suffer a creep like Kamran Akmal, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring Moin Khan back, and to add more salt to the wounds, he could be made a vice-captain of the team. Hows that?
