ABN-AMRO Cup National One-day Championship
After the Twenty20 Cup, another ABN AMRO sponsored tournament is going to start, precisely today. It was earlier to have been staged from February 21 to March 8, but later the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to have the Twenty20 Cup competition earlier than scheduled.
The ABN-AMRO Cup National One-day Championship, a One Day International tournament, will be contested by teams comprising of two leagues, Gold and Silver.
Gold League — Faisalabad Wolves v Peshawar Panthers at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad, Sialkot Stallions v Lahore Eagles at Sheikhupura Stadium and Rawalpindi Rams v Karachi Zebras at Pindi Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi.
Silver League — Lahore Lions v karachi Dolphins at Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground, Hyderabad Hawks v Quetta Bears at Municipal Sports Complex Mirpurkhas and Islamabad Leopards v Abbottabad Rhinos at Diamond Club Ground Islamabad.
Final of Gold League will be played at the National Stadium here on March 23. Final of Silver League will be played at a venue yet unspecified on March 20.
ABN-AMRO Bank, the sponsors of all Pakistan’s national domestic cricket, have set aside Rs 500,000 as prize money for the Gold League and another Rs 300,000 for the Silver League.
