asifPakistan suffered a big blow before the start of the one-day series against Bangladesh when pace bowler Mohammad Asif was ruled out for the first two One-day Internationals.

“Asif will not be available for the first two games as he needs a little more time to recover and be fully fit to sustain the pressure of international cricket,” said Pakistan team manager Talat Ali Malik while talking to APP here on Monday.

He said though Asif took part in a domestic cricket match and bowled a few overs he still needs more time to be in prime form. He said Asif is in action after a lay off for a few months and certainly it will take time to achieve that form which is needed to play a higher level of cricket.

Asif bothered by an elbow injury had it operated upon in Australia and recently he underwent rehabilitation work at the National Cricket Academy to regain fitness and form. “I think he will be considered for the third one-dayer and all depends upon how quickly he gains that fitness and we are confident to have him back in the squad for the third match,” he added.“To fill the void we have some young bowlers and we will be making a final selection before the match,” he added.
