Aussie not coming to Pakistan due to IPL?
Cricket Australia have been tentative of touring Pakistan due to political turmoil and series of bomb blasts and suicide attacks in the country since the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The recent suicidal attacks in the city of Lahore, where Australia is supposed to spend most of its time has also rocked with couple of bloody attacks.
But according to Ramiz Raja, who is one of the most venomous opponent of Indian Premier League, the basic reason behind Australia’s refusal to not to visit Pakistan is because of IPL, and he warned the boards around the world that they must talk to ICC in that regard otherwise in future they could also face such situations.
Ramiz Raja is one of those few who think that the shorter version of the game, this Twenty20 Cricket, is damaging the cricket and to add insult to the injury this new trend of ICL and IPL are striking at the core of cricket. He thinks that gradually every cricket playing nation would have its own league games, and the international cricket would not be there anymore.
“I think the PCB needs to drum up support within the International Cricket Council and the Asian Cricket Council. It needs to build up a support lobby of the Asian bloc. Because if they don’t make a hue and cry about it now they will face more such problems in the future and cricket could be at a big risk in the country,” Rameez said.
Australia should put the game and earlier commitments first rather than going for the ludicrous money in India.
