Aussies Create More Trouble
Cricket Australia has given new travel warnings to its citizens as they prepare to travel to Pakistan for the Champion’s Trophy and Australia has also given warnings as per regard of Sri Lanka. As the champion’s Trophy is held from 12-28th September in Karachi and Lahore, there is very little time left for the change of venue, and which is not on the card.
Now International Cricket Council has hinted that they would prefer to cancel this year’s tournament of Champion’s Trophy instead of shifting it to the other venue, and English board has also refused to host it at such a short notice and South Africa has already been ruled out.
Now Cricket Australia has said that it would be very dangerous to send in its players to Pakistan. The Australian Consulates in Karachi and Lahore have been closed until further notice for security reasons. Fears of terrorist bombings have led to the closure of Australian consulate offices in Karachi and Lahore — the two cities chosen to stage next month’s Champions Trophy. That poses new problems for the PCB, whose officials are trying hard to convince the Aussies, and the coach Geoff Lawson has gone to his homeland on this mission.
Australia should cooperate instead of becoming more stubborn.
