Cash award for World Cup-winning Pak U-19s
Sindh Sports Minister Qamar Mansoor has announced a cash award of Rs. 50,000 for each member and officials of the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team which retained their Junior Cricket World crown in Colombo, Sri Lanka last month.
Qamar made this announcement at a reception hosted in honour of Pakistan Under-19 team and other teams participating in One-day Gold League Cricket Championship by the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) here at the National Stadium.
He lauded the achievements of the player for bringing the honor and glory to the country. Secretary KCCA Prof. Siraj-ul-Islam appreciated Qamar’s efforts, saying he had always came forward for the cause of Karachi cricket.
He praised Pakistan Under-19 team for their superb performance in the World Cup. Manager of Pakistan Under-19 team and former Test all-rounder Aftab Baloch thanked for honouring the team and according a great welcome when the team flew into the city after their triumph in Sri Lanka.
Qamar later presented shields to the managers, coaches and captains of Faisalabad, Sialkot, Karachi, Multan, Peshawar, Lahore and Rawalpindi, currently taking part in the One-day Gold league. The ceremony was attended by Pakistan Under-19 team’s captain Sarfraz Ahmed and the KCCA zonal officials.
