tim who are you kidding anyway? daryl hair has always had a thing against the teams from the subcontinent its not like we want you to feel sorry for us or anything but face whats true…there are people out there who are pretty racist! i am NOT against white people or anything but come ON i mean why is that all the non-white teams found his behaviour so offensive? are we different in any way from you people(except the color)? or are we not capable of thinking right?

@Tim: Hair hasn’t hide his distaste for the players of asian sub-continent. His attitude against india, pakistan and sri lanka is on record. Also, aussie players and even the prime minister took stand with hair - don’t you treat this as racism?

It is pathetic to bring this back to racism. It has nothing to do with racism.

You are the only racists who have looked at this situation and seen black and white. You are the ones who hide behind colour every time you break the rules.

They changed the laws of the game to allow Murali to play. This PROVES that Hair made the right call there. hey had to change the laws for him so clearly under the old laws that Hair was officiating under, Murlai WAS THROWING. Under the new laws, it is legal.

Hair made a very harsh and incorrect desision against Pakistan but forget the racist rubbish, he is just a bad umpire. Its is sad that it has been turned into this by you the people claiming to be victims.

Shame on you all.

Daryl Hair should apolygize to the pakistan team and public on accusing pakistan of cheating without any evidence.
If he is accsing, he MUST bring some evidance.

He’s doing all this for his own will and Money. For the ICC to be on the Right Side, it must suspend Daryl Hair from icc elite panel.

and now his letter to ICC clearly shows what type of a person is he, he knows that he is a cheater and cant survive much longer even ICC clears him but cricket fans would always remember him what he has done, he is a racist.

If they cant play Muralitharan he is spinning too much his action is wrong and the interesting part was when murli started bowling from other end the other umpire had no objections at all, why its always him?? he has shown his racism agains all asians’s india,pakistan,srilanka,bangladesh and he should apologyize

Racism is a bitter reality and desis living in western countries usually bear witness to it. I have no confidence in ICC and as Malcolm Speed, Mike Procter and Darrell Hair are all aussies, there won’t be any stern action against Hair.

Also, PCB is not pushing it’s case strongly. They should cancel the tour and come back if Inzi’s case is not resolved before start of ODIs because ICC and ECB are just gaining time so that the tour goes on and ECB don’t get into financial losses.

I am surprised why this thing didn’t happen eralier. It was like a valcano to be erupted.
Even before this incidence, both the umpires including Daryl Hair made blunders in the third test by NOT giving two clear caught behinds, one of them of Peiterson, that clearly changed the outcome of the match.
When “Sergeant” Mike Gatting abused (late) umpire Shakoor Rana in Pakistan a decade ago, not only play was held for quite a while with all diplomacy going on behind the scenes, no match was awarded to Pakistan for English team refusing to play. Mike Gatting was portaryed as doing the right thing. I am sure he could not have dared to do what he did if Mr Daryl hair was there.
ICC does nothing when England refuses to play Zimbabwe, South Africans leave Sri Lanka due to security concerns, Australians and West Indians refuse to play in Pakistan.
Cricket is a gentleman’s game and this includes players, umpires and the organizers who run the game, ie. ICC. When ICC clearly knows that Mr. Hair is controversial and all his “superb” actions are aginst the Asian teams, why do they appoint him to invite trouble? He can only be appointed for the matches between South Africa, Engalnd and New Zealand, if ICC really loves him so much.
With four days gone after this ugly and unfortunate incident, I think most readers and cricket followers will agree that:
Daryl Hair should have called Inzimam if he had seen any ball tempering and warned him and brought it to the notice of the match referee first.
There was no need to award 5 penalty runs to the English team just to prove his knowledge of the law and behave like “mini-Hiltler” as he is being now portrayed.
The Pakistan Team should have been given more time to come to field and resume the match. They should have been told in clear terms that if they won’t match would be awarded to England. Even then If they had refused, I think then the umpires could have done what they did rather imposing their authaurity and showing their stubornness and totally ignoring gentleness of this game.
Now what one expects from ICC committee? Having seen ICC’s attitude in the past, one should not expect any favours. This is what will happen:
Inzimamam will be banned for (?) number of matches for bringing the game in disrepute by not bringing the team for fielding. He did come with the players but because Mr hair had already awarded the match to England, so this decision can not be cahnged because Hair went by the book.
Nothing will happen to Mr Hair & Mr.Doctrove and they will continue umpiring in future even in sensitive matches.
Wheter one accepts it or not, a racial gulf has already started to build between the Asian (black) and white teams, and unfortunately ICC which could have done much better to bring closer this gap, had failed miserably in their job. ICC should see for themselves, what good they have done to create a pleasant, friendly, gentlemanly atmosphere between players, umpires, officials and countries.
There is a clear feeling among the Asian followers of the game that the ICC is bent towards the saving interest of countries like Australia, England, South Africa and New Zealand. ICC should work seriuosly to wipe of this impression by their deeds not words alone.

I think some white folks who are in position of authority hide their racism behind the rule book. Darrell Hair happens to be one of them. He seems to belong to the school of thought that says if it’s by the rule book it ain’t racist.

What he and his bosses don’t wish to see is that the rule book is disproportionately applied to asian teams and that dubious decisions such as LBW’s and no balls are routinely biased and there is no rule book to correct that bias.

Unless people like Darell Hair and his ilk realize that the very premise of rationality that they apply to a situation is racist they are unlikely to win the respect of the spectators who incidentally are not foolish or dumb.
