The Sheikhupura born Pakistani pacer, who shown some sort of promise for the Pakistani pace attack has been found with a little quantity of opium in his wallent, and now he faces the danger of detention in Dubai. Though the urine sample of Mohammad Asif has cleared him off the charge of using the drug, as it came out negative, but he still faces the arrest and the prospects of detention.

Pakistan Cricket Board is desperately trying to get their player off the hook, while a senior official of PCB has reached Dubai and efforts are being made at the government to government level, and PCB has hired a very expensive lawyer in Dubai for Mohammad Asif. All these efforts for a drug carrier are ominous. Like Shoaib Akhtar, PCB should also make an example of this drug idiot, who hasn’t yet done anything worthwhile in his career, and already giving bad name to the country.

Mohammad Asif is another Shoaib Akhtar in making. Mohammad Asif has also been dropped from the tri nation tournament in Dubai and Sohail Khan has been selected as his replacement.

The Pakistani coach Geoff Lawson has said that the detention of Mohammad Asif in Dubai for the alleged possession of an illegal substance would disrupt the paceman’s progress.
