Pakistan’s Shoaib Akhtar cleaned up England’s Marcus Trescothick off the very first ball of the third ODI at Rose Bowl. It thus provided the fifth instance when an English opener dismissed off the very first ball of an innings. Trescothick became the first English batsman to achieve this dubious feat twice. It was also the 10^th time that Pakistan got a wicket off the first ball of an innings. For reader’s interest the accompanying table has the complete details.
