Fights Starts Between Dr. Nasim and Malik Quyyum
Attorney General of Pakistan, Malik Abdul Quyyum has struck hard on Dr. Nasim Ashraf, chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board and has really scared the daylights out of the PCB officials. Though Dr. Nasim is a friend of President General (r) Pervez Musharraf, but the services of Malik Quyyum and his utility outshines Dr. Ashraf by miles.
Attorney General, Justice (r) Malik Qayyum has warned the PCB that it could face tough times if the players banned for appearing in the rebel Indian Cricket League approach the court on the matter. All in all, PCB disgustingly banned six players from playing for Pakistan both at international and domestic level.
Players who got banned included Inzamam-ul-haq, Abdul Razzaq, Imran Farhat, Taufiq Umar, Shabbir Ahmed and Azhar Mahmood. Inzi started a revolt in the Pakistani team, and managed to lure Mohammad Yousuf to ICL, who later brought back by PCB with loads of money.
PCB’s dual standards are very strange, as at one side it has banned players from playing Indian Cricket League, but on the other hand it has allowed players to play Indian Premier League, sanctioned by BCCI.
Anyway, the support by Attorney General to banned players is a very strange development, and will it be the start of new fight between Dr. Nasim and Malik Quyyum? We are still savoring the fight between chairman PCB and Senator Anwar Baig.
