Australia’s Matthew Hayden smashed the fastest century in World Cup off just 66 balls with 14 fours and four sixes as he romped to 101 against South Africa at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts the other day. Canadian John Davison held the previous record as he reached century off 67 balls against West Indies at Centurion in 2003 edition.
Hayden’s hundred was eighth fastest in limited overs international cricket and fastest by an Australian after Adam Gilchrist’s century off 67 against Sri Lanka at Brisbane in February 2006. Here are the complete details.
