ICC should Compel Teams for CT
International Cricket Council has done to democratically select Pakistan as the venue for the prestigious tournament of Champion’s Trophy, and now they must also ensure that all the teams of the world come and participate in this tournament for the benefit of the game and the future of the cricket in Pakistan.
The ICC said the Champions Trophy that would be held on September 11-28 event will not be shifted despite concerns by England, Australia, New Zealand and South African boards, though it has issued a warning for the security concerns and the teams are also apprehensive about that.
Pakistan Cricket Board should also play its sheer part to alleviate the concerns of the teams, and they should engage the security experts from these nations for their peace of mind, but these nations should also cooperate and coordinate for the sake of the game. There are fears that defending champions Australia might be forced to withdraw from the tournament with teams like New Zealand and England following suit.
That would be sad, but that should not deter the tournament.
