ICC WC 2007 operations roll out plans
Teams vying for next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup were given comprehensive view of what to expect when they come to the Caribbean for the tournament.
The representatives of 16 participating nations attended the pre-tournament team managers meeting on September 21 22, 2006 in Barbados, hosted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup WI 2007 Inc. cricket operations department. Senior officials from ICC and CWC headquarters as well as cricket operations managers from nine local organising committees (LOCs) also attended the meeting.
The meeting provided information to team managers about next year’s tournament, presentations by the members of CWC cricket operations team led by the director Michael Hall.
The ICC CWC 2007 managing director & CEO, Chris Dehring, ICC general manager, David Richardson, & ICC host liaison officer, Chris Tetley, spoke on various team obligations in the meeting.
Team officials were updated on confirmation of international flights; special CARICOM visa (legislation in place for tournament); airport arrival, departure protocols for teams; domestic flight arrangements; confirmation of hotel arrangements; ground transportation plans; team practice schedules; tournament schedule; support staff arrangements (liaison officers, close protection officers, baggage handlers, net bowlers) and administrative issues (such as match tickets, financial arrangements).
