India Pakistan United Against ICL
In a rare display of unity, Pakistan Cricket Board’s chairman Dr. Nasim Ashraf has revealed that PCB and Indian Cricket Board has decided to arrange a twenty20 league tournament very very soon under the eye of International Cricket Council.
In this Indo-Pak league, players will be offered huge salaries and benefits and the contract would also be very flexible. The biggest thing is that players would have complete liberty to choose their options. PCB’s chairman also thinks that ICL is bad because it not only setting a very alarming trend in the game, but also erecting parallel pillars against the boards. He is also of the opinion that ICL also bars the players to represent their own countries, which is against the norms and the spirit of the game.
Chairman PCB also once again used a stern language against those Pakistani players who left the national team to join the ICL and said that the player who prefers rebel league over the team will lose the right to play in national team forever. He said that PCB’s first priority is discipline and they will never compromise on those grounds.
He also thinks that players who have joined the ICL should also keep their mouths shut and shoudnt be bashing the PCB, as their own performances in the near past is very dismal and almost all of them except Mohammad Yousuf have lost the flair and the mettle to play the modern day powerful cricket. PCB chairman is trying real hard to bring back Mohammad Yousuf, which is a good and commendable thing, as Yousuf is an asset for the team.
The twenty20 league tournament which will be held jointly by Indian and Pakistan board would start a new interesting fight in the sub-continent and fans would enjoy more entertainment. ICL, now faces a new challenge, and as it lacks the big star players, who can really rock and shake the crowd, PCB and BCCI really stand a chance to puncture the balloon of ICL.
