India gave the title of ‘Aaloo’ (i.e. potato) to Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former Pakistani skipper, and now Indian league has invited him to play for them. Colours of time or vegetables of time for that matter. Inzamam was once one of the great batsman of Pakistan. He, then became the captain of Pakistan, and then everything started to get ugly.

His dumb, arrogant, blind and stubborn captaincy ruined the Pakistani team and cricket in the country. Pakistan not only lost every major tournament but also the team morale reached at its record low. He didn’t give damn to the board or to the selectors or to the public opinion. He ruled the team like a tyrant. His own performance was worthless. Then due to the immense pressure from the nation, after an ignonimous defeat in the world cup, he thankfully left the team and resigned from the ODI squad. PCB decided that now the team selection would be done on merit and solely on the performance, and if Inzamam-ul-Haq wants to play the test cricket, first he has to prove his fitness.

But as foolish, arrogant and stubborn Inzamam is, he is publicly saying that he is willing to play the Indian league. Inzamam is without any doubt a world class batsman, and he has got a class and elegance. He just needs 20 runs to complete his 10000 runs in the test format of the game, but he is not even an average intellectual, as we all know. Now the blame also goes to the board, that it isnt providing a face-saving way to Inzamam to atleast return to the test cricket, but it seems that now PCB is deliberately ignoring him.

The name of Inzamam-ul-haq is not even the list of the players who got the central contract. This is condemnable thing. Its not only an excess with Inzamam, but also with the Pakistani cricket and fans. Inzamam’s belly is huge, but not that huge that it cannot be filled without the aid from India. But Inzamam needs to realize that wealth isnt everything and that Pakistan has also given him a lot. If he needs more money, we can always start a nationwide compaign to collect money for him.

Inzamam should come to know that there is a thing called as loyalty and patriotism and morality. When people like Sarfaraz Nawaz made the allegations of match fixing upon Inzamam, nobody believed them, but now as Inzamam is willing to play just for money for India, those allegations are gaining considerable weight. Inzamam, please, dont make yet another dumb decision.
