Inzamam set for county debut today
Pakistan legend Inzamam-ul-Haq is set to make his English cricket county Yorkshire debut in their LV County Championship Division One match on Wednesday (today) against Warwickshire at Scarborough.
The 37-year-old comes in as cover for compatriot Younis Khan, who is preparing to represent his country in the ICC World Twenty20 tournament starting from September 11, 2007 in South Africa.
Seamer Jason Gillespie is also unavailable as he must link up with Australia A squad, so Yorkshire have signed Pakistani leg-spinner Imran Tahir on a short-term basis and is named in the 12-man squad. That squad also includes England stars Matthew Hoggard and Michael Vaughan, who returns after captaining his country in the Test series against India.
Opener Joe Sayers makes way for Vaughan after a poor run of form and Mark Lawson is absent for personal reasons, while Ajmal Shahzad will replace Gillespie should Yorkshire field an extra seamer rather than new-boy Imran.
