Inzi fails again, Kaneria and Razzaq shine
Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq failed yet again for Yorkshire, as he was dismissed after making only eight runs, in an English County Championship Division One match against Sussex at the County Ground in Hove, on its second day on Thursday.
Sussex had earlier totalled 597 for eight declared in their first innings, with Naved-ul-Hasan making 46 and Saqlain Mushtaq an unbeaten 57. For Yorkshire, debutant Pakistan leg-spinner Imran Tahir had figures of 0-141 from 37 overs.
Inzamam was dismissed by Pakistan leg-break bowler Mushtaq Ahmed who, in a total of 168-6, had taken 3-58.
In other matches on the circuit, in a Division Two encounter, Pakistan’s leg-spinner Danish Kaneria had figures of 7-95 in 24.4 overs, for Essex against Somerset at County Ground Chelmsford.
For Worcestershire against Hampshire in KIdderminster in a Division One match, Pakistan’s Abdul Razzaq had bowling figures of 2-70 that were followed by a knock of 78, off 114 balls with 12 fours and two sixes.
