Sindh province of Pakistan has suffered badly due to the recent riots in the wake of assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Almost all the cities saw worst looting, plundering, violent protests, torching of vehicles and property and general lawlessness.

But as the mourning wears off and the law enforcement agencies have taken the control of the area, thing are returning to normal. People have started to go about their daily routines, and they badly need refreshment and respite. Hyderabad is one of those unfortunate city of Sindh which took the blows of protests quite heavily. But due to the resolve of its people, and the efforts of law agencies, things have almost returned to normal.

Hyderabad is full of sports loving people. They took a sigh of relief when Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took over the affairs of Niaz Stadium, and started its renovation. Now city government is also building a three-star hotel in the city just for the purpose of hosting the visiting teams, and their officials and it’s almost complete.

In the upcoming series of Pakistan v/s Zimbabwe, there also was match scheduled in Hyderabad, which was about to be shifted to Lahore due to the law situation in Sindh. But now commendable PCB has decided to hold the match in city, and it has made the people quiet happy.

A sport is the biggest healer, and PCB would do well to hold more matches in Sindh and Balochistan to increase national unity and harmony.
