Miandad Not Too Happy
Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Director General Javed Miandad is not happy at the way things are going in the new setup of PCB, and he is of the opinion that things must be drastically altered or else everything will remain unchanged and will perish very soon and the cricketing future will remain in limbo and eventually will diminish.
Miandad said that he is currently working on transforming Karachi’s National Stadium into a world-class facility. He said that the stadium will be renovated within a week and will be ready for the proposed home series against Sri Lanka. But he complained that he wasn’t receiving any support from the PCB and he intends to raise the matter with the chairman.
Miandad also doesn’t seem to be much happy regarding the captaincy of Shoaib Malik. The Pakistan Cricket Board last week opted to keep the 26-year-old Malik on as captain for the foreseeable future, with PCB chairman Ijaz Butt saying there was “no reason to replace him” when his tenure expired on December 31.
But Miandad hasn’t spoken against this decision but has conveyed his reservations to the board.
PCB must listen to Miandad as his loyalty, vision and professionalism is beyond doubt.
