Leading a team at the international level is not an easy ask, and the task of leading the Pakistani team is even more difficult due to the historical and customary politics, ignorance, leg pulling and the lack of professionalism. If captaincy is a pride it also brings heavy responsibility and challenge and Shoaib Malik hasn’t done his best to rise to the expectations. He is young, but is way too languid and lazy to accomplish anything dynamic.

Mohammad Yousuf has left the Pakistani team to play the Indian Cricket League (ICL), and his reason was Shoaib Malik’s attitude. Pakistan cricket captain, Shoaib Malik has dismissed claims of his senior colleague Muhammad Yousuf that his attitude was one of the factors which forced (Yousuf) to join Indian Cricket League (ICL). Shoaib said he always consulted senior players on team matters and valued their opinion and suggestions.

This is where the role of Javed Miandad is most relevant. Javed Miandad has been appointed as the new Director General of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He has got vision, sagacity and experience and the tact to handle these things. His major responsibility should be to strike a balance between the senior and junior players and to create harmony among the players in the team to achieve optimum results.
