Abdul Razzaq’s blitzkrieg at Trent Bridge gave a real boost to Pakistani total as 48 runs came off the last two overs. Sajid Mahmood who bowled the penultimate over was smashed for 26 runs thanks to some splendid batting by Razzaq. This provided only the 28th instance in the annals of ODI’s when 26 or more runs were scored off an over. It was also the seventh such instance for Pakistan. While, Sajid equalled the record of conceding most runs in an over by an English bowler, previously held by Graham Gooch. For reader’s interest the accompanying tables have the complete details.
