Naik Effect on PCB
As if that was missing from the mess in the cricket of Pakistan, the law minister Farooq H. Naik, who is one of the most disliked people in the country is now putting his legs in the affairs of PCB, after ruining the law and order situation in the country and after making a mess of lawyers’ movement for the supremacy of constitution and the law.
The Government will pursue changes in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) constitution in order to make it more democratic. For the purpose the first meeting of the constitutional committee headed by Law Minister Farooq H Niak will be held after the on-going parliament session. Federal Sports Minister Najamuddin said that the government wanted changes in the PCB constitution.
This is strange. The PCB is the most lucrative institute in the country, so much so that it doesn’t take any grant or aid or funding from the government and it has huge reserves and it carries out and bears out its expenditures at its own. President Zardari is taking personal interest in this institution, which is scary to say the least.
