No Dying for Kiwis, But…..
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is eying the big jack pot, instead of the small time gain, and that is why they are focussing fully on the upcoming lucrative and prestigious Champion’s Trophy instead of the three One Day International flicks with the New Zealand this month.
Pakistan had planned the New Zealand series earlier this summer in a bid to make up for the ‘postponed’ home series against Australia. The PCB had scheduled the three matches in Multan (August 24) and Faisalabad (August 27 and 30). But the players of New Zealand are refusing to come to the Pakistan for their security reservations, and Pakistan isn’t much after them in that regard.
PCB says about the upcoming Kiwi visit that, “If they (New Zealand) come here and play the series, they would be more than welcome, But if they want to skip then it would be their decision. We are not desperate for the series.”
But PCB must not do that, and they should invite New Zealand to come and play and see that there is no fear for the security, and Pakistanis are desperate for the game, and that would help PCB to allay the reservations of other teams like New Zealand and England.
