Pakistan Dope Scandal

Written by Kashif Aziz on October 16th, 2006   (2,732 views)

After Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif’s positive result of the banned drug, Nandrolone, speculations are riipe about a possible doping scandal in the Pakistani camp.

It is hard to digest that Shoaib Akhtar, a seasoned player, would do something childish like taking asteroids when random dope testing practice is in place by ICC. Also, the role of coach, physio, therapist and what-nots involved in team management is questionable. It seems that either the management has no control over the players, or the players are somehow framed in doping scandal to disrepute current team and management.

If found guilty, the players may get a ban of upto two years, which would certainly finish the cricketing career of Shoaib Akhtar.
