Pakistan Got Boost From Gulf Win
Not only the cricketing spirits of the team, team management, and the board as a whole have gotten a much needed boost, the other affairs of the PCB have also witnessing a renewed vigor and the passion has restarted in the cadres of PCB. They are even thinking of again contacting the world teams to visit the Pakistan at the end of this year.
Pakistani cricket officials remain ‘positive’ about the chances of hosting India for a much-awaited home series early next year even though speculations that the Indians might cancel the tour over security fears continue to grow. But situation is improving as David Morgan, the International Cricket Council (ICC) president will be coming to Pakistan to witness the opening Test against India scheduled to get underway in Karachi from January 13. Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive will also be attending that match.
PCB is saying, “We will also be inviting (former BCCI president) Sharad Pawar for the Karachi Test.” That is a good approach, and PCB should engage the world cricketing managers in order to save cricket in Pakistan.
