Pakistan playing warm-up event before T20 Cup

Pakistan will begin their warm-up for next month’s inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa with a game against Bangladesh on September 2 in a four-nation tournament in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to the itinerary of the Nairobi quadrangular announced by the the Kenyan Cricket Association, the event will get underway from September 1. Bangladesh will meet hosts Kenya in the opening game and will later play against Pakistan on the following day. Minnows Uganda are the fourth competing team in the event.

Pakistan and Bangladesh will use the tournament to warm up for the 12-nation Twenty20 World Cup scheduled to be held from September 11-24. Both the teams will fly for Johannesburg on September 6. Pakistan are placed in Group D of the tournament with old rivals India and tournament underdogs Scotland.

Schedule: September 1 Bangladesh v Kenya, Pakistan v Uganda. September 2 Kenya v Uganda, Bangladesh v Pakistan. September 4 Bangladesh v Uganda, Pakistan v Kenya.

Squads: Pakistan — Shoaib Malik (capt), Mohammad Hafeez, Misbah-ul-Haq, Imran Nazir, Yasir Arafat, Rao Iftikhar, Abdul Rehman, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Asif, Salman Butt, Fawad Alam, Younis Khan.

Bangladesh — Mohammad Ashraful (capt), Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Alok Kapali, Syed Rasel, Abdur Razzak, Aftab Ahmed, Mushfiqur Rahim, Farhad Reza, Shakib Al Hasan, Nadif Chowdhury, Tamim Iqbal, Zunaed Siddique, Mahmud Ullah, Nazim Uddin, Ziaur Rahman.
