Pakistan work on strategy to tackle big-hitting Yuvraj

Pakistan have worked on a special strategy to check Yuvraj Singh’s onslaught and captain Shoaib Malik said he would not be allowed to score freely against Pakistan in the World Twenty20 final here at the Wanderers today.

Yuvraj hit six sixes in an over against England and later thrashed Australian bowlers in the semifinal to keep his team in the hunt for the title.

“I know he (Yuvraj) is in tremendous form. We would sit down later in the afternoon and would try to come out with a strategy to stop him in the final,” Malik said.

Indian captain MS Dhoni believes that Yuvraj is his ace player and will be in full flow in the final. “Everything he (Yuvraj) has been hitting so far is going out of the field. I think he would continue his form in the final.”

Meanwhile, Malik requested Indian and Pakistani fans not to get emotional as winning or losing was a part of the game. He said India and Pakistan fans just want victory for their team.

“I request to millions of fans in both countries not to get too emotional. One team has to lose on Monday. Take it just as a game. Both teams have worked hard to reach this far and both would try to win tomorrow,” he said.

Dhoni shared the feeling and asked fans to keep their emotions under control. “I think it is great news for the sub-continent cricket that our two teams are already in the final. The team playing better cricket on Monday would be the winner. So please do not get emotional when the other one loses.”
