Pakistan’s Flailing Batting
Though in the recent match of Asia Cup, Pakistan has managed to post a decent total of 299 runs, but the given the dead nature of the pitch and the advantage of home ground and home crowd and the baffling fact that only four wickets were lost, the total seems a lesser one, and in front of Indian team it was meager enough.
The role of Misbah ul Haq and Shahid Khan Afridi has become more questionable than ever. The role of openers and the middle order is also very questionable. They play with huge reservations and their mental barriers doesnt allow them to think and play out of the box and so they cannot capitalize on the favorable conditions.
The openers either start aggressively or they start very passively. That either results in early fall of wickets or that result in a very low total, that ultimately puts pressure on the middle order and in either case the middle order flops, and when the middle order consists of idiot like Younus Khan, than it is bound to flop.
There is no proper all rounder in the team and taking Afridi or Sohail Tanveer as the all rounder is not very good choice, as they are flukes and fail more often than not, and only harm the team in the short and long run.
PCB must also spend sometime on this trend of the batting of Pakistani team.
