PCB Downsizing
Pakistan Cricket Board has started feeling intense heat. While not giving much to the players, PCB has cut down on it’s inwards expenses and now thinking about getting rid of the army of officials, most of them technocrats, who got the appointment as the political favor.
All the nominated members of the Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) Governing Board have been relieved of their places while the Board Chief Financial Officer Arif Kitchlew has also tendered his resignation. The technocrats who have been relieved from the job include Syed Ali Reza (President National Bank), Farooq Rahimtoolah, Lt Gen (rtd) Munir Hafeez and Moin Afzal.
Moin Afzal and PCB Chief Financial Officer Arif Kitchlew has resigned from the job citing differences with PCB officials. Both of them were close buddy of former PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf and both were not really liked by the new administration. It is also reported that both were of the opinion that PCB was going no where in current circumstances.
Another news is that many of the former cricketers who were included in the board with much fanfare have also been asked to resign as they have not really acted according to the whims of the new chairman. Miandad has also shown his disapproval with the new chairman.
