PCB Engages Gilani in bid for Champions Trophy
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is really working hard to ensure that somehow they get the clean ticket for the Champions Trophy, and they are lobbying hard in England, Australia, New Zealand and in South Africa on player and board basis to convince them to come for the prestigious tournament, and to alley their fears regarding the Champion’s Trophy.
PCB is also planning to engage the services of Prime Minister of Pakistan in this regard. A special task force formed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to help allay security fears surrounding over September’s Champions Trophy in Pakistan might even meet Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani next month in a bid to succeed in its mission.
That would be a good step, and it would really show that how committed the Pakistani board and authorities are, and how much importance they are rendering to this tournament, and how important Pakistanis take their game, and much yearning is there in Pakistan for holding this tournament and hosting all the teams.
Rest of the world should also help Pakistan in promoting the game and they should also work hand in hand in this regard.
