PCB Spends Huge Money for Champions Trophy
Whether Champions Trophy comes to Pakistan or not, at least the three venus; Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi would get immense facelift. Pakistan Cricket Board is sprinkling enormous money on all these venues, and that is being touted in the international media and PCB is also projecting it.
According to the media reports, efforts have been stepped up to ensure that stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi are fully ready ahead of the start of the ICC Champions Trophy to be played from September 12 to 28 at the three venues. Eight cricket playing nations are finding themselves in great quandary, especially the Western nations.
Though apparantly India has shown its approval, but now some people are having second thoughts about the security concerns, and Australia and England are thinking up resting its main players. International Cricket Council is now enforced by the voting to not to change the venue, and PCB is praying for the calm at the security front in the country.
PCB spending more than half a billion rupees in rejuvenating and construction work at the three stadium, and the budget for other things such as marketing and publicity and the security are separate and they are also huge. People from the country also support PCB in its bid to hold CT in the country.
