PCB Still Confident of Holding Champions Trophy
The biennial event of Champions Trophy is all likely to be relocated to either South Africa or to the land of Sri Lanka, as the security situation in Pakistan is bugging the cricket playing nations of New Zealand, England and Australia, but the Pakistan Cricket Board is still very much optimistic of holding the tournament as per schedule.
The PCB is so confident that they have given the orders of ticket printing of the matches, and their design has been finalized. The officials of PCB are working overtime to ensure that the construction and renovation work at the stadiums in Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore where the Champions Trophy matches are to be held are completed on time.
But ICC, the main governing body of cricket is not so sure about that and they have also put South Africa on the standby. But PCB is hell bent. “The ICC has also not given us any indication that the situation has changed since they announced we would host the event on schedule.”
But the reports are that behind the scenes, PCB has already asked for $3million in compensation from ICC, if the mega tournament of Champions Trophy is moved to South Africa or elsewhere.
