Preparing for the final touch down
Having wrapped up the series in a most convincing manner, the last match can be played either to experiment or to wind up on a high. Rahul Dravid would certainly prefer the latter as it is that kind of ruthlessness that would take the team up the ladder. Further, India do not have much options available on the bench with Sehwag and Harbhajan returning home.
But the home team has got everything to play for, they have already taken enough pounding from the media for the 3 consecutive defeats, a fourth defeat on the trot is not what they want at the moment. Injuries to key men in the form of Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi is severely taking toll of the already struggling Pakistani team, Inzamam should come up with some fresh ideas to turn the tide.
India have attained remarkable success chasing targets in recent times, for a change they might be tempted to try defending one in the final match. Yuvraj Singh has had a phenomenal run over the past 6 months, he would be keen to continue his good touch with the willow. On the other hand, his buddy, Mohd Kaif is desperately struggling for form, the last match will be very much crucial for him.
