* At Manchester, Pakistan’s capitulation on the third afternoon was the ninth occasion in its history when they were routed inside three days in a Test match. Three of those nine instances have now been registered against England. The quickest defeat, in terms of days, in Pakistan’s Test annals, is of two days – against Australia at Sharjah in 2002. Interestingly, it is after 44 years that Pakistan have lost a Test match against England in three days time. The accompanying table has the complete details.
