Razzaq should be handed the captaincy, says Zaidi
Former manager of the Pakistan cricket team, Azhar Zaidi, on Monday urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) authorities that all-rounder Abdul Razzaq should be given a chance to lead the national team.
“Razzaq is the best choice among senior players and he is a cricketer who can lead the side in a professional way,” said Zaidi. He said the team need an experienced player who can lead from the front to help players in regaining their lost confidence and to blend the team into a fighting unit.
Zaidi said Razzaq has a good temperament and leadership qualities and has a spotless cricket career, free from controversies or any ruling from the International Cricket Council (ICC) or any court of law.
“We firmly hope that the PCB will consider our request for appointing Razzaq as the captain as he deserves to lead the team because of his experience and performances for the team over the years,” he added.
