Real Battle for Asia Cup
Asia Cup is knocking on the doors of millions of fans of cricket throughout this region and beyond, and all hearts are itching to see the action starting.
Three sides; Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India are the real challengers, but the pundits are predicting that the real battle would be between Pakistan and India. Pakistan and India have seen each other just recently in Bangladesh. Pakistan avenged a humiliating 140-run defeat against India in a tri-series match in Dhaka earlier this month by beating them in the event’s final.
But Sri Lanka cannot be ignored altogether. They are the defending champions and have got all the firepower and the mettle to quash any team any time in hardest of the times. They have done it before, and they have got all the ability and capability to do it again.
Pakistan has also made nice and radical preparations for the occasions. They are all set to introduce young blood with the experience in the grounds of Pakistan for Asia Cup. The advice for Pakistani players is to take every game of the contest seriously and come out with their best against minnows Hong Kong, whom they face on coming Tuesday at the National Stadium, Karachi.
