Report of Investigation Committee
According to many, as usual, the findings of the designated committee for investigating the elements behind the ignominious defeat of Pakistan cricket team in the world cup 27, are not more than an eye-wash. The former cricketers have also voiced their concerns and have said that this report is yet another pile of useless papers, and will do nothing more than filling the stomach of files.
Three-member committee in the chairmanship of Ijaz Batt has made his report public, regarding the world cup defeat of Pakistan. He has said nothing new in his report. The report blames all the wrong-doings upon the former skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq, who as was expected of him, denied the allegations. Report says that all the responsibility of the defeat goes to the ill-leadership of the captain and the captain acted like a tyrant and didnt try to mobilize the team.
Thats not a news. Everyone knows that Inzamam-ul-Haq is the major personality behind this all debacle. It is also not a secret that he didnt pay any importance to chief selector or any other official. Its also known by all that he made the coach a static puppet, who was just restricted to his laptop.
What purpose this report will accomplish? Why didnt the report put spotlight on the inability of the chief selector and the chairman Pakistan Cricket Board? Why didnt the report suggested that PCB should also take the responsibility of the loss and their failure to imbue some sense into the captain? Why were they remained so blind about the happenings in the team? Why the memory of all the officials showed a shock of life, just after the world cup? Why chief selector suddently recalled that he had no hearsay in the selection of the national team?
Former chairman Shaharyan Khan has informed the PCB that there could be an element of match fixing. Why didnt this report include any substantial account on this? Because if this is true, and the elements involved in match fixing are still in the team, then this vicious cycle of national berating will only continue.
If this committee is unable to answer the burning questions, then PCB should make another responsible and able committee to investigate that the root causes and also instruct that committee to comeup with some solid and rational measures.
