I don’t know why but the gut feeling says that lots of things are fishy in the ongoing cricket series between Pakistan and India. It was hard to digest when India was defeated by a funnily weak Pakistani team in the last One Day International at the famous Pink City.

Anyway, Pakistanis won and the series was won by the hosts, and commentators predicted as usual that the win in the last ODI will boost the confidence of Pakistan in the just started Test series, but what happened in Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, New Delhi on the first day of test match was a real lesson to the wretched cricketing buds of Pakistani fans.

It was disgustingly enjoyable to read the statements of Pakistani players ahead of the test series. Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria, who is more famous for his pathetic fielding than for his bowling, looked straight into the eye of the camera and said, “I am here just to target Tendulkar scalp.” Now one wonders, whether he knows what exactly the scalp is or not. He also said that he hadn’t been able to dismiss Sachin Tendulkar once in his career and wanted to accomplish this dream. Kaneria is only a bubble, which always get busted in the middle of the grounds more often than not.

India poses one of the biggest challenges for the Pakistani team and they have proved it in the one day series and before that in the Twenty20 world cup. Playing against them in their own backyard is more challenging because they have world class batsmen like Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Laxman and hosts of others.

Danish Kaneria has reached India with his wife and a toddler daughter. Along with him two more Pakistani players have come to India to play the test series. Those two include Faisal Iqbal and Mohammad Sami, and Sami has even proved its mettle on the first day of the first test, when he heart fully frustrated the Indian bowlers along with Misbah-ul-Haq.
