Shoaib Gets Half Life
An appeal tribunal has reduced Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar’s five-year ban to 18 months and imposed a seven million rupee fine. The appeal tribunal was headed by Justice Aftab Farrukh. He said, “We have in consensus decided that the ban on Akhtar is reduced to one-and-a-half years and impose a fine of seven million rupees.”
The funny argument by the Justice Aftab Farrukh is that as the doctor has said that Shoaib could play for three years, so they are giving him his half of the career back. What a seer this Aftab Farrukh is. Ok, what about playing Shoaib Akhtar for the first one and a half of the year, and then giving him the rest half as ban?
The 32-year-old paceman, who is also known as Rawalpindi Express and is famous for his brawls, scandals and big mouth was banned for five years on a series of disciplinary charges on April 1. The ban was last month suspended for 30 days to allow the fiery paceman to play in a domestic event in India. He was already on two years’ probation for hitting teammate Mohammad Asif with a bat days before the Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa last September.
So that practically ends the career of Shoaib Akhtar. Good bye to him.
