Shoaib was making a nuisance of himself
Indian cricket team’s coach Greg Chappell has said that Pakistan’s banned fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar “was making a nuisance of himself” in a Jaipur hotel during the ICC Champions Trophy last month.
But the former Australian Test cricketer denied that Shoaib knocked his Jaipur hotel room door that night. “He (Shoaib) did not knock my door. He was making a nuisance of himself in the vicinity,” Chappell told an Indian TV channel.
Pakistan team’s security officer Anil Kaul alleged last week in a TV interview that Shoaib slapped his coach Bob Woolmer, banged the door of a hotel room in which Chappell was staying with his wife and misbehaved with a girl at a discotheque during his brief stay with the Pakistan team in Jaipur.
Chappell said he has not lodged any complaint against Shoaib, saying, “I have not filed any complaint. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should deal with the matter.” Shoaib, banned for two years for using illegal steroids, has denied Kaul’s accusations.
