Show Cause Shoaib and Danish
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) seems to be determined to implement discipline in the otherwise maverick Pakistani Cricket Team, and that is a very good omen for the future of Pakistani cricket, which is right now seems very bleak and dismal, despite of its win over minnows Zimbabwe last month in the home series.
Shoaib Akhtar is a chronic problem, and it was not a news when PCB asked him to explain as why he told media that PCB was unsure about in its decision, and PCB didnt understand the Shoaib’s fitness matters. Shoaib Akhtar in a very enigmatic and rude way told media, that he was the best pacer in the world, yet he was treated very badly by the board. He told media that he was dropped from the 5 ODIs against Zimbabwe and nobody consulted him about his fitness.
He then proceeded to question the PCB’s decision to make him the skipper of Federally Administered team for the pentangular series, and once again nobody consulted him, whereas PCB told media it was a litmus test for the fitness of angry fast bowler, who likes controversies and brawls.
Danish Kaneria, the leg-spinner of Pakistan, who is yet to show his elusive mettle, and who is more famous (notorius) due to his pathetic fielding than his equally miserable bowling has also received show cause notice from PCB. He uttered his angry remarks about PCB due to demotion from ‘B’ category of the new central contract to ‘C’.
PCB must stick to its policy of discipline, and if these two players wanna go, then it’s a good riddance.
