The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to hold a grand awards ceremony on the lines of the ICC annual awards in the country in October this year to attract foreign attention.
“The idea is to showcase the positive side of Pakistan cricket and its talent on annual basis and utilise the awards ceremony to invite foreign guests as well,” a source said.

Kevin Pietersen has been omitted from England’s provisional 30-man squad for the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka later this year, despite his insistence that he was available for the event.
The announcement suggests Pietersen is unlikely to end his premature retirement from limited-overs internationals in the near future.
