Taseer Quits Shoaib’s Tribunal
The ban imposed by the appellate tribunal upon Shoaib Akhtar starts from June 4, this year when Shoaib Akhtar returns from Indian Premier League. While he comes home to roost, one wonders as how many syringes the pacer has used during IPL, and did he give away one or two of those special syringes to Katrina Kaif, the new sister of Shoaib Akhtar?
Salman Taseer, the governor Punjab and a business tycoon was also the member of appellate tribunal hearing Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar’s case, and he has resigned from the tribunal. He was very vocal against the pacer, and he was also very ill at ease due to the politicization of the whole issue by his political rival party, and he also sternly asked Shoaib to get away with it.
Now as he has left the tribunal, Shoaib is expected to get some relief. It is also been noted that Rehman Malik, the advisor to PM has been approached by Shoaib Akhtar for mercy, and the co-chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari, the real power broker in Pakistan has also agreed to forgive Shoaib Akhtar.
That may not be much pleasing to the team administration and the board officials who have virtually written off the Rawalpindi Express.
