tendulkarSachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh have replied to the show-cause notices sent to them by the Indian board regarding comments made in the media relating to former coach Greg Chappell.

Rajeev Shukla, the vice-president of the Indian board, said Tendulkar had sent his reply but since it was a holiday, the contents of the letter would only be known on Monday (tomorrow) when the office reopens.

“I have talked to him (Tendulkar) and he said that he has sent his reply in the morning. I can’t talk about the contents since we have not received the letter yet,” Shukla said.

“It is only on Monday we will know what he has answered. We will analyse the reply and then decide what to do,” he added.

However, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said he would issue a press statement tomorrow after talking to the board.

“I don’t know anything. I have not got any reply from Tendulkar. I will talk to the BCCI office people and issue a media statement tomorrow at 12 noon,” Shah told reporters in Rajkot.

The BCCI’s Working Committee, which met in Mumbai on April 7, decided that Tendulkar and Yuvraj had breached the board’s Code of Conduct. The notices to both players with a seven-day deadline were sent on April 9.

Yuvraj told reporters in Mumbai on Saturday that he had sent his reply to the BCCI two days ago, but refused to disclose its contents.

“Yes, I have replied to the BCCI two days ago, but I don’t want to say anything more. I can’t reveal the contents of my reply too,” he told reporters.

Yuvraj is in Mumbai to play for Punjab in the all-India inter-state Twenty20 tournament and practised at the Bandra Kurla Complex ground of the Mumbai Cricket Association.
