Trescothick pulls out of ICC Trophy

England have dropped experienced opener Marcus Trescothick from their squad for next month’s ICC Champions Trophy in India because of a “medical condition”.
According to England chairman of selectors the left-handed Trescothick made himself unavailable for the Champions Trophy because of a “sensitive medical condition”.
“It is a blow Marcus will not be available but we are delighted he will be for Australia,” the England chief selector said.
England begin their Champions Trophy campaign on October 15 against India and have been allowed to pick their squad for the tournament till Sunday.
Trescothick has been out of form since leaving England midway on their tour of India earlier this year. His best performance in the ongoing series against Pakistan came in a Twenty20 game at Bristol late last month when he top scored for England with a fifty. In the third one-dayer against Pakistan at the Rose Bowl on Tuesday night, he was bowled first ball by Shoaib Akhtar.
It remains to be seen whether the seasoned batsman would be in the England line-up for the remaining two one-dayers against Pakistan to be played in Nottingham and Birmingham later this week.
