Troublesome Shoaib
Wasim Akram and Sarfraz Nawaz look like angels as compared to Shoaib Akhtar. The only difference is that the former two players have plenty of remarkable records and performances to back their stubbornness. After a recent skirmish, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fined Shoaib Akhtar for Rs. 300,000. Though its not a big amount for Shoaib Akhtar, it has certainly hurt his swollen ego.
Shoaib Akhtar has always remained an open wound for the team. He never delivers the performances with consistency, if he ever delivers anything, but delivers plethora of difficulties for the board and the team. His attitude problem has become notorious the world over. He first started fooling around with the opponent batsmen, which was acceptable and was heartening for the fans, but then he got out of control and started horse playing with his team mates and the team management.
He engaged himself in myriad number of scandals which include match fixing, obnoxious behaviour on the foreign tours, fake injuries, doping scandals, ill-discipline and other petty charges. His career is more littered with the issues other than cricket. He is more known for his stubborn glamour, than of his pace and performance.
This time he finds himself in hot waters, because he left the Karachi camp without notifying the board, and when board inquired him about it, he didn’t give any response. So board fined him Rs. 100,000 over the offense of leaving the camp without notification and then fined him further Rs. 200,000 over not giving any damn to the PCB’s inquiry.
Shoaib Akhtar says that he informed the skipper before leaving, though its his mistake that he didn’t tell PCB. He said that he would appealed against the fine and would clarify his position. The matter will, of course get resolved but the thing is why Shoaib Akhtar creates more problems for the team? Why doesn’t he act like a senior and try to contribute?
