Two Months of ICL Wooing
Amorous advances of Indian Cricket League has resulted in acquiring the favours of Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq and Imran Farhat. ICL is also making repeated lucrative offers to other Pakistani players like Mohammad Asif. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has confirmed that ICL has made a stupefying offer for Rs. 100 million to Mohammad Asif for a three year contract and the pacer is almost hooked.
After the congregation of rebel Pakistani cricketers in London, Moin Khan who is the agent of ICL for cajoling the Pakistani players have won the contracts of Inzi, Yousaf, Razzaq and Imran Farhat. Abdul Razzaq has also even threw away the Pakistani green cap in his utter dumbness.
One wonders how much more money our players want? Nation has showered them with regards and rewards, but the match fixing mafia is yet again in action and their solo motive is money. The rebel ICL is headed by Kapil Dev who is throwing money everywhere, and he has also lured the biggies like Brian Lara and Nick Boje of South Africa.
Initially the ICL is just planning to play the twenty20 matches, in which in every team there would be two players from other nations, two from the domestic arena, and others would be local lads. ICL is also planning to play out One day internationals and then test matches. It faces stiff resistance from BCCI and a strong disapproval from the cricket boards around the world.
I secretly wish that Younis Khan would play for ICL. But I honestly fear that even ICL wouldn’t accept him and we have to bear him in the team in the future.
