Urooj Pakistan captain in Women’s WC Qualifiers
Urooj Mumtaz Khan has been retained as captain of the Pakistan Women’s cricket squad for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, which is being played from February 18 to 24 at Stellenbosch in South Africa.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the names of 14 players and four officials for the forthcoming event. The tournament was earlier to have been hosted in Pakistan in November last year, but was shifted due to security reasons.
Sajida Shah has been named as vice-captain of the Pakistan team which includes the following players: Bismah Maroof, Sana Javed, Nain Abidi, Taskeen Qadeer, Sana Mir, Batool Fatima, Asmavia Iqbal, Qanita Jalil, Sadia Yousaf, Sabahat Rasheed, Sumaiya Siddiqi and Nida Rashid Dar. The four officials accompanying the team will be Shahnaz Sohail (manager), Umar Rasheed (coach), Mohammad Tariq Siddiqi (trainer) and Huma Imtiaz (physio).
