Pakistan cricket team’s vice-captain on Friday said that Jonty Rhodes’s short trip to Pakistan as a fielding coach would show positive results in the coming months, saying Pakistan players have learnt a lot from the former South African fielding champion.

“Though it was Rhodes’s brief assignment, but still we’ve learnt a lot from him in improving our fielding that will be proved in the future,” the middle-order batsman said in an interview.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) assigned Rhodes as the fielding consultant of the national team as well as that of Pakistan’s second string for two weeks. Rhodes started his mission on June 10 in Lahore where the Pakistan team trained for their coming tour of England.

Younis, who is considered as one of the sharp fielders in the Pakistan side, said that he also enjoyed a lot under the coaching of Rhodes, who taught some very useful tips to the players during the team’s training camp for England.

Younis added that the former South African not only pointed out the main flaws in fielding but also instructed some very handy methods in improving the fielding technique of his side.
